And then there were two...

Cory Holt has moved to TE for the time being, leaving a 2-man battle between Sean Glennon and Ike Whitaker for the starting QB spot for the Hokies

Was Holt the massive QB they signed 2 years ago?

yeah you're thinking of Greg Boone, who is listed at QB right now, but more than likely will be moved to TE or on the DLine

Boone is 6'5 and reported to VT at 288, but he has slimmed down to 260...if he makes a switch his weight will go back up...he could hold 300+ without losing a step

Holt is 6'5 225...he reported at 230 this spring and he could get around to 245 before fall...he is most certainly athletic enough to play the TE position

A good move for Holt as I see Ike taking the starting QB spot. Boone would make a killer DE or DT.

the thing is...we have a lot of depth at DE and it only gets deeper with Adjepong, Graves, Gee and Friday...that's 8 guys who are capable of becoming excellent DE's...if he wants to join that group he could get further back than in the QB race...i think he is pretty set on QB, but i bet one look at Tyrod Taylor will make him exchange that #8 for a #89

I've dreamed of seeing him as a 300 lb DT that runs a 4.7 40.

Re: And then there were two...

he very well could be...he ran a 4.6 at 288 before arriving at VT, if he gets to a HEALTHY 300 then i dont see a reason he couldnt...he and Ajiboye would plug up some major holes

Boone was who I was thinking of then. Man, I think TE would be a natural setup if he can keep his feet at 4.7.
